Spring concerts 2026 – Toro
Welcome to our new concert series “Tōrō – a Japanese nocturne”!
On Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th of May, we are taking you on a trip to Japan. Through the eyes of Asahi and Mayu, a boy and his grandmother, you will experience the famous lantern festival “Obon”, where families gather to honour the souls of their ancestors. Together with them, you can enjoy the mighty Taiko drum spectacle of “Yoronami”, the Taiko ensemble with whom we got the opportunity to work together for this concert series. Of course, there will also be film and classical music included, exclusively from Japanese composers such as Joe Hisaishi (Howl’s Moving Castle) and Akira Ifukube (Japanese Rhapsody). Dream away during this evening full of lights, togetherness, and warm music!
